Upon arrival at Lake Atitlan, we will travel by boat taxi to the private dock at Villas del Carmen (only accessible by boat), and settle in to our villas for the week.
IMPORTANT: Please hold off on booking a non-refundable flight until we have a full group confirmed. We will notify you when the time comes to book your flight.
Be sure to book a flight that lands in Guatemala City BY 2pm on Sunday, February 22, and a flight that takes off AFTER 2pm (the later the better) on Sunday, March 1, in order to be part of the group transport. Email us with any questions.
We highly recommend buying travel insurance in the event there is a major weather incident, natural disaster, unexpected illness, etc. Get a quote and search for insurance plans here.
More on Lake Atitlan…
It’s difficult to adequately describe the magic of Lake Atitlan… both Randi and Lauren have been twice, and are excited to return! The beauty of Lake Atitlan draws comparisons to Lake Como in Italy, but boasts volcano views and lush tropical vegetation, making it arguably more picturesque (read more).
A brief history of Lake Atitlan: The eruption of an ancient supervolcano formed a caldera (crater), creating the expansive and deep lake. It is a very powerful place, attracting locals, travelers, adventure seekers, artists and spirtualists that want to witness its natural beauty, and for some experience the geomagnetic fields and mystical energy. Ancient Mayans considered the lake to be an energy vortex, due to the three volcanos that surround it, making it historically and spiritually significant to Central American culture. We hope you can join us for this very special experience :).
